This is weird, but I found myself turning off the color on my TV so that I could appreciate how clear some of the scenes looked without the tints getting in the way.

I love this new release; the music score is the icing on the cake. The definitive edition, IMO. I won't be buying any more, that is, only if the James Bernard-score version emerges in R1...

The documentary THE LANGUAGE OF SHADOWS on the EUREKA! DVD was/is brilliant! Usually I'm too tired after watching a film but I had no problem watching this great documentary. It was very informative...

However, Orlak's head is almost entirely intact on the previous Kino release (by far the least amount of cropping I've ever seen on any other video or dvd incarnation) Bryan

The commentary is poorly researched in places, and one of the commentators is quite harsh to the other at times!

It's true that a number of shots from Die zwölfte Stunde has been used in the 2007 restoration (which was done in SD, not HD) but they have been used in all major restorations since Enno Patalas'...

Could be. I believe the Bernard scored version had corrected speed, but this was back in the 90's There may have been better correction speed, since. Shame if so, as it's the best score I've ever...

The BFI dvd is the same speed as the Kino 2002 dvd - same restoration. In fact, the BFI is still the best restoration out there on disc.
